Amy Jade Winehouse (born September 14, 1983) is an English singer-songwriter, known for an eclectic mix of different styles of music like R & B, jazz, and Seoul. Winehouse is best known for her powerful contralto voice and substance abuse and mental health problems.

Winehouse was born in Southgate in north London, is a Jewish family, who were the source of his interest in jazz. He grew up in a family of four: father of Mitchell (a taxi driver), mother of Janis (pharmacy), and his older brother, Alex. Mitchell would constantly sing around the house, often singing Frank Sinatra to young Amy, who also got into the habit of singing constantly to the point that it was difficult for teachers to keep her quiet in class.

When Winehouse was nine, his grandmother, Cynthia, suggested she attend the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School for continuing education. At age ten, Winehouse founded a rap group called Sweet Life Short 'N' Sour with Juliette Ashby childhood friend.
