Angelina Jolie Voight was born on June 4, 1975 is an American actress. She received an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and three Golden Globes Jolie promoting humanitarian causes and is known for his work with refugees as a goodwill ambassador to theUnited Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) . Born in Los Angeles, California, Jolie is the daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. She is the sister of actor James Haven, niece of singer and songwriterChip Taylor and the goddaughter of Jacqueline Bisset and Maximilian Schell players. On the side of his father, Angelina Jolie is of German descent and Slovak, and next to her mother, she is a French Canadian descent, Dutch and German. It is also considered part of the Iroquois by his mother, though Voight said Bertrand is "not seriously Iroquois," and would only say that to improve its exotic origins.
When his parents separated in 1976, Jolie and her brother were raised by his mother, who abandoned her acting ambitions and moved with them in Palisades, New York. As a child Jolie regularly saw the movie with his mother and later explained that this had inspired his interest in acting, has not been influenced by his father. When he was eleven years old, the family moved to Los Angeles. Jolie decided she wanted to act and enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where he coached for two years and appeared in several theater productions.
At 14, she fell out of her acting classes and worked to become a funeral director.
